While trillian is mainly used as a client that you download to your computer (mac version coming soon they say) - it is also now usable on your iphone, or through a web interface. As far as online web multi-branded IM chat goes, Meebo has been quite popular. Meebo allows you to connect to multiple instant messenger networks all through a web page - allowing you to keep up with people through multiple networks is cool, not sure I love depending upon an open window for it, although I think I saw something about a firefox plugin, so maybe it’s not neccessary these days. One reviewer of the firefox plugin says that you still need to have a tab open with meebo to use it - so maybe it still does take up some browser real estate - but it’s free, so how can we complain?
